Panther Valley Intermediate School Arrival, Dismissal, and Attendance Procedures
The safety and success of every student begins with consistent arrival, dismissal, and attendance routines. Panther Valley Intermediate School serves hundreds of students each day, and following these procedures helps ensure a safe, orderly, and efficient school day for everyone. We appreciate the partnership of our families in helping us maintain a secure learning environment.
Morning Arrival
The school day begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Students may arrive between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Parent Drop Off
Parents dropping students off should use the designated parent drop off area.
Please follow the directions of school staff to help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
Students should be prepared to exit the vehicle promptly with all of their belongings.
Bus Riders
Students riding the bus should arrive at their assigned bus stop 5 to 10 minutes before their scheduled pickup time.
Students are expected to ride only the bus to which they have been assigned.
Students may not ride a different bus unless it is part of an approved daily childcare arrangement established through the Transportation Office.
Tardy Students
Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. are considered tardy.
Students arriving after 11:45 a.m. will be considered absent for the morning session.
Medical documentation should be provided for medical appointments or healthcare related tardiness whenever possible.
Afternoon Dismissal
Dismissal begins promptly at 2:45 p.m.
To help ensure a safe dismissal for all students, parents are asked to avoid early pickups whenever possible.
Parent Pick Up
• If your child will be picked up instead of riding the bus, a written note must be sent to school that morning.
• The note should include the date, time of pickup, and the name of the individual picking up the student.
• If a parent or authorized adult has not arrived before the buses depart, students will be placed on their regularly assigned bus.
Bus Riders
• Students are expected to board their assigned bus immediately after dismissal.
• Students may only ride their assigned bus.
• Requests to ride another student's bus cannot be accommodated due to state capacity regulations and student safety requirements.
Thank You for Your Partnership
Our arrival, dismissal, and attendance procedures are designed with one goal in mind: keeping students safe while maximizing instructional time. We appreciate your cooperation in following these expectations and communicating with the school whenever changes arise. By working together, we help ensure that Every Panther is Connected to a safe, welcoming, and successful school experience.
