Social Emotional Supports

Panther Valley Intermediate School supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth through three levels of support. Our staff work together to help students build positive relationships, develop healthy habits, and stay engaged in learning.

Tier 1: Support for All Students

Students receive support throughout the school day through our School Wide Positive Behavior Support program. This program teaches and reinforces positive school expectations. Students can earn tickets for demonstrating these expectations and use their tickets to participate in raffles and other events throughout the school year. Students who arrive at school on time are also eligible to participate in individual and group attendance incentives.

Tier 2: Additional Support

Students who need additional support can work with our School Counselor, Miss Biechy, or our Social Service Coordinator, Ms. Shubeck. Support may include small group meetings to build social and emotional skills or regular check ins to monitor attendance, grades, or behavior. These services help students work toward individual goals and strengthen their connection to school.

Tier 3: More Intensive Support

Students who continue to need additional assistance may meet more frequently with Miss Biechy or Ms. Shubeck for individualized support. When appropriate, students may also be referred to outside providers, including the St. Luke’s YESS program or Cartwheel virtual therapy.

Families who have questions or concerns about their child’s needs are encouraged to contact Miss Biechy to discuss available support.

PVIS BRIDGE Program

During the BRIDGE programs students meet in a small group of less than 10 students with a teacher or staff facilitator. Students are grouped with other students who ride the same bus so that they are building relationships with other students they may see inside and outside of school. The goal of the BRIDGE program is to connect with others, understand yourself, reach your goals, improve in school, speak up when you need help, and build skills for success. Students meet in their groups each month.
